EXR meets consumer demand for an affordable, powerful REC Lite model that expands the EX Series ‘ popularity with first-time buyers. EXR’s performance is Yamaha’s award-winning TR-1 ship engine, which comes with modified engine control (control unit) that increases PS by 10 percent compared to the rest of the EX line. In addition, the EXR has a top loader intake and a 40mm dump ton extension, which increases the acceleration response and adds to the thrill of this new watercraft.

In addition to the EXR’s class-leading performance, the EXR becomes the cheapest WaveRunner, equipped with Yamaha’s powerful, super-lightweight NanoXcel 2 hull and cover material. The EXR weighs just 540 pounds, which is 60 pounds lighter than the EX Deluxe.

The new EXR is completed with the 2020 Yamaha EX Deluxe dual-mode RiDE throttle system for extraordinary flexibility (also available in the EX Deluxe model), bold colors and graphics, as well as a double bow and seated seat. The new EXR will add EX Deluxe, EX Sport and EX WaveRunners, which return to the original order with the highest buyer pace for the first time in the PWC industry. In fact, 54% of EX customers are buyers for the first time.

The X Deluxe, EX Sport and EX are powered by Yamaha’s TR-1 naval engine, which is 17 percent stronger than the REC Lite. Feeding this award-winning engine is a 13-gallon fuel tank that is twice as much capacity as its rec lite competitor.

Underneath the waterline is a performance fuselage design made according to precise tolerances. This lightweight SMC hull provides excellent stability for two or three hours of riding and towing, providing precise responsiveness and predictability for an exciting one-time drive. Apart from the EXR, there is no other REC Lite fuselage that offers so much fun, excitement, stability, and versatility.

On the handlebars, the EX Deluxe includes Yamaha’s RiDE system, the industry’s first double-core throttle control, which allows maximum maneuverability moving forward or vice versa. The ride is the most intuitive driving experience in the water. Press the right wheel to move forward. Press the left lever to reverse. At speed, the left-hand brake also. Leave both rights and left levers and the watercraft is neutral. No shift. No gears. The only thing to think about is how much fun it is for RiDE.

The EX series was developed with the same quality and reliability that Yamaha’s more expensive WaveRunners are known for. For 2020, Yamaha’s cheapest WaveRunner personal watercraft range is now also the most powerful EXR, which is now the most powerful and lightweight Rec Lite water ride on the water. EXR’s performance is Yamaha’s award-winning TR-1® HO three-cylinder ship engine, which comes with modified engine control (control unit) that increases the PS by ten percent compared to the rest of the EX line.

EXR becomes the cheapest WaveRunner, equipped with Yamaha’s powerful, extra-light shell and 2020 Yamaha EX Deluxe NanoXcel® 2 cover material. The EXR weighs just 540 pounds, which is 60 pounds lighter than the EX Deluxe. In addition, it has a loader top entry grille and a 40mm pump extension for more versatile handling and performance.

With the new EXR, 2020 Yamaha EX Deluxe dual-throttle RiDE® system is for exceptional versatility (also available in the EX Deluxe model).

“No one has developed a boat that looks like EXR,” Watkins continues. “By combining high-performance and ultra-light weight, it provides the best performance to weigh the weight of its class and customers will find it a driving explosion, unlike anything else in the water today.”
